Working from home is easier when your space is set up for it. You don’t need a dedicated office to stay productive, just a few smart choices about where you work and what you work on.
Claim a dedicated spot
Even a corner of the bedroom or a nook in the living room can become a workspace. Having one place where you work, and leaving it when the day is done, helps your brain switch between work mode and home mode.
Sit comfortably
A good chair makes a real difference to how you feel at the end of the day. Look for a seat that supports your back and lets your feet rest flat on the floor. A well-shaped dining chair can work beautifully at a desk if you don’t want your workspace to look like an office.
Get the lighting right
Natural daylight is best, so place your desk near a window if you can, ideally at a right angle to it to reduce glare on your screen. For darker afternoons, a directional wall light such as the Luna Bella Sconce puts light exactly where you need it without taking up desk space.
Keep clutter out of sight
- Use a side table with a drawer to keep chargers, notebooks and pens close but hidden.
- Clear your desk at the end of each day so you start fresh tomorrow.
- Add one or two things you love, such as a plant or a favourite print, to make the space feel personal.
A workspace you enjoy sitting down at is a workspace you will actually use.
Small changes like these add up to a calmer, more focused working day, and a home that still feels like home when you log off.
